For the third time the winner of the All-Ukrainian Tourist Professional Program “Krishtalevyy Leleka” in nomination “For the achievements in tourist cadres training” Donetsk Institute of Tourist Business was awarded in May, 2008.

Donetsk Institute of Tourist Business (DITB) was established in 1992 as a private educational institution with Level IV accreditation.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has granted DITB a License Series áá  N 867762. Direction of training is 6.030601 "Management". Training of bachelors (professional direction "Management of organizations"); experts and masters (specialty "Management of organizations", specialization "Management of the tourist industry"). The graduates are given the qualification "Manager - economist"
DITB provides educational services to meet the requirements to enable the citizens of Ukraine to enter the Institute (License of Ministry for Education and Science of Ukraine series áá N 627380).
DITB carries out the certified agents training courses of Amadeus reservation system.

The structure of the Institute is as follows: the Rector’s Office, the Office of the Dean, Office of the Head of Studies, Chairs, the Department of Training of the institute entrants; the Centre for Advanced Research on Recreational Territories; the Department of Internships, Excursions and Tourism; the Psychology Centre; the Department of Information Technologies; the Department of Job Placement and Business Cooperation with Enterprises; the International Relations and Translations Department; the Department of Recreation and Entertainments; the Printing and Publication Department; the Educational and Training Centre “Tourist Enterprise “Tourist”; the Sports Tourism Club and the Debate Club, as well as English, German, Spanish, Arabic clubs for language learners.
DITB has two academic buildings, a library, two reading rooms with computers and educational, scientific, periodical and general literature. In the library the “DITB library” programme complex is implemented. This enables the advanced title, author, discipline, etc. keyword searching. The library is a depositary of the World Tourist Organization (WTO) library. At the moment in the library of DITB all the publications of WTO since 2000 are kept.

In the computer classrooms such world-famous systems of airline, hotel, and automobile booking as “Amadeus” and “Galileo” are available, and language laboratories and methodological study, student's cafe.
DITB is the current winner and twice before has won the Ukrainian tourist professional program “Krishtalevyy Leleka” in the category of “Leader of Tourist Education” and is also the winner of the “Zolotaya Fortuna”, an international academic rating of popularity, in nomination  “For professionalism in training qualified experts in the tourist business industry”.
The Institute has been awarded certificates of honor by the State Tourist Administration of Ukraine for significant contributions to the development and organization of tourism activity of Ukraine and for training experts in the tourism industry; by the State Office of Tourism and resorts of the Ministry of Culture and tourism for significant contribution to the development of tourism in Ukraine, conscientious work and compleat professionalism; and by the Regional Council for the significant contribution to the development of the Education and formation of the intellectual elite of the State of Ukraine.
In the rating of the Highest Educational Establishments “Top-200 Ukraine”, held by the Chair of UNESCO in 2007, in the Category “Quality of the scientific and pedagogic potential” DITB holds 46th place, in the classification group of the HEE “Economics of Management and Trade” DITB holds 5th position out of 46 best Educational Establishments of Ukraine.
The President of DITB, Anna V. Kuzmenko, is an A student of public education, honored tourist of Ukraine, holds an honorary doctorate from the Russian International Academy of Tourism. She has many times been decorated, awarded Certificates of Honor by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; the State Committee on Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism of Ukraine; the Family Affairs, Youth and Tourism Office of the Donetsk Regional Administration; and the Donetsk Regional Council for contributions to the furtherance of state policy in the industry of tourism, for significant contributions to the fulfillment of the state program of tourism development in Ukraine, and for productive work and personal contributions to the development of private education in Ukraine.
In October, 2007 the President, Rector and collective of Donetsk Institute of Tourist Business were awarded the Certificate of Honor for the significant contributions to the fulfillment of the state politics in tourism industry, development of the tourist infrastructure in the region, compleat professionalism and devotion to the cause on the occasion of the World day of tourism.

PROFESSION OF THE FUTURE

Nowadays tourism has become one of the leading directions of the social and economic activity. In spite of different crises, local wars and terrorism tourism continue to develop precipitately. In 1950 there were 25 million people traveling abroad, in 2006 their number was already 842 millions, and according to forecasts of the World Tourist Organization (WTO) in 2010 the number of international tourists will amount to more than billion people.
Income from the export has brought tourism into line with such types of business as oil and automobile production. That’s why tourism is being invested a lot. It was the creation of passenger jetliners of big capacity the push for the tourism development in the postwar years, now the tourism business itself is planning technical process.
All around the world the big tourist centers and zones are being built (Spain, Egypt, Turkey, etc.). Cruise liners with theatres, ice rinks, restaurants and shops on board are being constructed. Their dimensions exceed the dimensions of airplane carriers; their capacity is more than 3000 tourists. Plains of the capacity of about 800 people get off the ground (aerobus A-380).
The world is getting very close to mass space tourism - suborbital flights in space (spacewalk at the altitude of 100 km and return to the Earth).
In the end of 2006 the Ukrainian-Russian rocket brought in space test module of the tourist hotel of a private American company. The flight vehicle Space Ship has passed the tests for the suborbital flights in space.
The Company Virgin Galactic has signed the Contract for construction of five such ships and there are already 7 thousand applications received for the flight. Besides more than 20 international companies create alternative  vehicles for suborbital flights.
An important criterion for a consumer choosing a tour product is the quality of services. Tourist centers with high quality standards gain competitive advantages.
Ukraine does not stand apart from the global development of tourism. State Program of Tourism development for the period till 2010 was carried. New modern infrastructure is being created and developed: hotels, restaurants, transport, entertainment centers that require managers of the modern level. For example, in Donetsk at the place of the old hotel “Donbass” one of the best Ukrainian hotels Donbass Palace rises up. The best stadium in Ukraine is being built. The region of Donbass which before was known only as an industrial region is gradually acquiring an another image, this image is attractive from the point of view of tourism.
An important event for Ukraine and our region is European Football Championship which will take place in 2012. To accommodate a big number of guests in a short period of time an according infrastructure will be created. But the most important is that services sector must have high quality standards, that’s why it is very important for a manager in tourism to have an appropriate professional education that one can get studying in Donetsk Institute of Tourist Business.
